Pop Evil w/Don Jamieson & Them Evils

Pop Evil

Even as the music business was dismantled and reconfigured, large chain stores shuttered, cable TV abandoned music videos as a format, radio playlists tightened, and thick-headedly bubblegum anthems celebrated, hard rock music has actually thrived, increasing in size and championed by an elite vanguard of ambitious bands.

POP EVIL smashes through the odds like a battering ram, weathering the trials and tribulations of paying dues with a steadfast resilience owing much to their blue-collar and middle-class backgrounds, building a worldwide audience one fan at a time. As the moniker promises when emblazoned on a CD or radio dial, POP EVIL conjures aggressive riffs and hard-charging sing-a-longs with emotional heft and melodic power in equal measure. It’s music by the people, for the people.

There’s a reason Billboard named POP EVIL the #4 Mainstream Rock Artist of 2014, and it’s not just because of those three(!) consecutive #1 Rock Radio Singles from the last album (and a fourth that cracked the Top 10), the Top 10 Independent debut and Top 40 Billboard 200 debut of ONYX, or that album’s subsequent 180,000 in domestic sales. All of which being undoubtedly rare feats to accomplish as independent artists in any genre of music.

Simply put, POP EVIL is a larger-than-life true rock n’ roll band blending the earnestness of Pearl Jam and Soundgarden with the celebratory showmanship of Motley Crue and KISS, capable of empathizing with the daily struggles of their fans while simultaneously offering the escapism a truly bombastic concert provides. It’s an attitude and a way of life POP EVIL has put proudly on display on tour with Godsmack (as part of Rockstar Uproar), Five Finger Death Punch, Three Doors Down, Papa Roach, Stone Sour, Three Days Grace, Theory Of A Deadman, Black Stone Cherry and more.

Don Jamieson

Don is best known as co-host of VH1 Classic’s hit heavy metal talk show series, ‘That Metal Show’ where legends of rock hang out to discuss their past and current projects in front of a live studio audience. Rolling Stone Magazine dubbed the program one of the 50 Best Reasons To Watch TV! He also co-hosted ‘Beer Money,’ a fast-paced, non-traditional sports quiz show airing on SNY (SportsNet NY). He is currently co-hosting a new rock web-series with former Fox News correspondent and fellow rock fan, Juliet Huddy, on BlondeandCrossbones.com.

Amongst his many accomplishments, Jamieson’s 2 stand-up CD’s ‘Live & Hilarious’ and ‘Hell Bent For Laughter’ on Metal Blade Records hit the Top 20 on iTunes and Top 10 on the Billboard comedy charts and his third for the label, ‘Communication Breakdown’ drops April 21st.

Jamieson’s proudest moment is becoming an Emmy Award-Winner for his work on HBO’s ‘Inside The NFL’. Don and long-time comedy partner, Jim Florentine, lent their brand of humor to the popular sports show; writing, producing and performing sports-themed comedy sketches.

The two have also collaborated on the hidden-camera DVD and Comedy Central web series, ‘Meet The Creeps’ as well as a series of prank call CD’s, ‘Terrorizing Telemarketers’, heard regularly on the Howard Stern radio show. He is also a joke writer for the country’s best celebrity roaster, Lisa Lampanelli and spent many years as Andrew Dice Clay’s steady opener.

Don’s stand-up act brings his everyday take on life with an added dash of sarcasm for good measure. He’s able to make people laugh at things they wouldn’t normally laugh at and then laugh again at that realization. Besides performing in clubs and theaters all over the country he also performs stand-up at rock festivals such as Rock On The Range, Monsters Of Rock Cruise and Metallica’s Orion Music + More Festival where he was introduced by drummer Lars Ulrich.

Don started his career as one of the young and talented comedy minds at MTV helping to launch the careers of comics like Jon Stewart, Kevin James and Jay Mohr, But unbeknownst to many, Don was spending his nights on the local comedy scene developing his own comic style.

Them Evils

Southern California rock band Them Evils have started off fast and are accelerating rapidly. The band is endorsed by no less an icon than Zakk Wylde, who had them open for Zakk Sabbath in 2017. They have also toured with the likes of The Pretty Reckless and Alter Bridge; they have hit the stage at some of the biggest Rock festivals in the US – including Louder Than Life, High Elevation and Aftershock. With the upcoming release of the scorching new single "Got Me Rockin'" on March 23rd and an EP of new material in May – recorded and produced by Kato Khandwala (The Pretty Reckless, Blondie, Drowning Pool, Pierce the Veil), the band is prepped to have a breakout year in 2018.

Them Evils' late-night joyride through Rock N' Roll's seedy underbelly was born in the shadows of neon vice and nocturnal living in Las Vegas when Jordan and Jake met in High School. They started writing and playing together and knew that they had a chemistry that was undeniable. In 2013 they made the move to Southern California to pursue their music professionally – with nothing to fall back on other than their drive and belief in their music and each other. They connected with David through a friend that worked at a bar with Jordan and who knew they were looking for a permanent drummer. Delaney auditioned for Griffin and Massanari, and all 3 knew it was a good fit immediately. The nasty energy befitting their name grew from there.

Inspired by equal parts of rock giants like Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, and Queens of The Stone Age, among others, the band pays tribute to their roots while carving out their own unique sound. Them Evils music is at times throwback without being too derivative and is thoroughly modern. "We pretty much made our own scene," Griffin says. "We started out doing straight up rock and roll, and that's what we're still doing... That said, we're always evolving.”

The band has released Two EPs: their debut Cold Black Love (2015) and the self-titled Them Evils (2016). They made inroads @ Active Rock Radio in 2017 with "She's Got Nothin", which peaked @ #22 on the BDS Rock Indicator chart.

They were born for the stage and have been road warriors for the past 4 years - constantly touring clubs, as well as with the aforementioned The Pretty Reckless, Alter Bridge, Zakk Sabbath and 10 Years, among others. To support the new "Got Me Rockin'" single and to set up the May EP release, the band are set to embark on a west coast run with Red Sun Rising followed by their own headlining tour this spring.
