Lake Fort Smith State Park

Nestled in a scenic valley of the Boston Mountain Range of the Ozark Mountains, this state park is on the western side of Lake Fort Smith. Here, you can enjoy outdoor adventures including camping, fishing, kayaking, swimming, mountain biking, hiking, and nature study.

For Anglers, Canoers, Kayakers, etc., the marina at Lake Fort Smith State Park offers fishing boat and motor, bass boat, party barge, kayak, canoe, and pedal boat rentals that you can use to explore nearly 1500 acres of Larke Fort Smith. Here, you can also buy bait, tackle and other supplies. Nearby, the park also offers a double-lane boat launch ramp to access the lake. 

For Hikers, Backpackers and Mountain Bikers the park serves as the western terminus of the 165-mile Ozark Highlands National Recreation Trail. This trail is as scenic and challenging as can be found anywhere else in the country and passes through the heart of The Ozarks. Learn more about easy, moderate and strenuous trails HERE!

For Campers, the park offers 20 campsites with full hookups and 10 campsites with water and electric. Hot showers in the heated bathhouse provides year-round comfort. The park's 2,660-square-foot swimming pool features an adjacent wading pool, splash pad and bathhouse with changing areas, lockers and a snack bar. Other facilities include a playground, picnic areas, pavilion, and visitor center with interactive exhibits and gift store.
