Celebrate the beginning of winter at the Spiro Mounds Archaeological Center. Archaeologist Dennis Peterson will lead three special guided tours of this unique prehistoric, Native American archaeological site. Each walk will take about two hours, require about one mile of easy walking on paved trails and Peterson will tell about the twelve mounds at the site, the wildlife, history, excavations and why some of the mounds line up for the Solstice and Equinox sunsets. The cost is $3 for adults and $2 for children. There is an entry fee to the site as well of $4 for adults and $1 for children.
