Second Annual Ghost Hunt on Haunted Hill

Old Arkansas Tuberculosis Sanitorium

Spooky Fun

October, 10 2008 Thru October, 31 2008

7 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays through Halloween

River Valley Paranormal Research and Investigation (RVPRI) hosts this ghostly charity event set at a place straight out of a Stephen King novel: the old, now-defunct Arkansas Tuberculosis Sanitorium (built 1907) in Booneville. Proceeds go to the Arkansas Human Development Center, now on what was the tuberculosis hospital campus and housing 150 special needs persons. According to RVPRI's website, the hospital is "possibly the most haunted location in Arkansas, if not this entire region of the USA." Space limited; advance registration required. Those under 18 must be accompanied by an adult; no one under 15 permitted. $25/person. To see more of what the RVPRI does, attend the free Food for Thought program on Oct. 17 at noon at the Fort Smith Public Library, 3201 Rogers. At this forum, the investigators will talk about their research involving area residences and businesses reported to be haunted. Also, patrons can buy a chance ($1) to win autographed books donated by several famous authors like Dean Koontz.

Take lunch; drinks and desserts provided.
