The Hangman's House
Former home of George Maledon, hangman for Judge Isaac C. Parker.
George and his wife Elizabeth bought the house in 1893 for $100. Elizabeth bore eleven children while living there. The original structure
is said to have been single story, while two separate rooms connected in the middle by a dog trot. Peg joined hand-cut logs
and square hand-hammered nails still remain. The second story and more rooms in the back were added later. Maledon hung 70 outlaws before his death in
1906. Elizabeth lived in the house until her death in 1936.
